Retro Gliding week Ålleberg/Sweden 2022
9th July 2022 - 17th July 2022
SVS, Segelflygets Veteransällskap in Sweden invites you to Ålleberg 2022 from July 9 – 17. We welcome all vintage and retrogliders! We fly and have fun every day during this week. Daily briefing at 9 AM at the glidingmuseum and social get together in the evenings.
The venue is Ålleberg, near Falköping, Swedens ancient hilltop gliding site situated between the two big lakes Vänern and Vättern. Conceived in 1940 it is still the home of the Swedish Soaring Federations office and the place for courses for instructors, aerobatics, cloudflying etc. It also houses our fantastic glidermuseum and a separate private vintage and retroglider collection. We have on site simple accomodation in single and double rooms, a camping site with electricity as well as sauna, restaurant and above all, our fantastic nature.
The grass airstrip on top of Ålleberg (300 m MSL) is 100 m above the plain and allows good slopesoaring in W-NW wind. Thermal conditions are also good and there are plenty of outlandingfields available. The grasstrip on Ålleberg is 700 m. We fly mostly aerotow but occasionally we also launch by winch. There may be some limited hangarspace available. Radio is not mandatory in our area as there is no controlled airspace nearby.
We would love to see you with or without your own glider. From the continent there are several routes and ferries, we recommend either the ferry-way Puttgarden-Rödby and then Helsingör-Helsingborg or the bridges way via Stora Bält (Denmark) and then Copenhagen-Malmö but there are others.
