SUMMARY:Slingsby - Vintage Gliding Week 2026
DESCRIPTION:After a successful Slingsby Week in 2025\, our usual homage to vintage gliding\, “Slingsby week” is planned to go ahead for the 2026 summer season.\nOwners and pilots of vintage gliders are invited back to one of the iconic sites where it all began. Sutton Bank offers opportunities for thermal\, hill and wave soaring and the late season dates often throw up a chance to sample all three (sometimes on the same day!).\nYour host this year will be Ian Pattingale once again\, who will provide the tasks\, the scores\, and the prizes – whilst you provide the stories for everyone else to enjoy.\nFor the non-pilots (and non-flying days) our location on the edge of the North Yorkshire moors offers easy access to great walks\, bike rides\, restaurants and many visitor attractions.\nTo Book in please contact the office at enquiry@ygc.co.uk\nThere will be a small organisation charge of £70 per glider for the week which will include the pilots membership fee and trailerage. For those coming without gliders\, but intending to fly the standard fee of £11 per day applies. Accommodation on site is limited and charged separately; as are launch fees and costs for flying YGC club gliders.
