UK National Rally at Usk

There is still time to register for the 2024 VGC UK National Rally at Usk – through the kind hospitality of the South Wales Gliding Club. This will be the first VGC national rally in Wales for many years.
Last year we held a very enjoyable mini-rally (The ‘Coronation’- Rally- goodness, that seems a long time ago, doesn’t it?) This ‘trial run’ showed what friendly people they are at Usk; also that it must be one of the easiest rural airfields to reach, with not a single hairpin bend, narrow lane, or clutch-mangling hill climb. It is a pastoral flat-land site, but with a gentle ridge close by, and dramatic terrain not very far away; wave flights are a real possibility.
There’s a Skylaunch winch and an excellent Pawnee tug ( ex-Southdown- so it is in great shape!)
The nearby town of Usk, incidentally, is really picturesque and offers plenty of accommodation if you are not camping. (Even a bit of fishing if so inclined).
